Every human being should be able to enjoy a state of complete mental, physical, and social well being. However the importance of good health is often overlooked in areas of poverty due to the lack of money, proper healthcare facilities, sanitation, and adequate vaccination systems. Every year millions of children will die before their 5th birthday due to inadequate drinking water and proper sanitation. More than half of these deaths could have been prevented had there been access to simple, affordable interventions. Global Health is extremely important to us because people around the world are inextricably linked. An outbreak in one country can threaten the health of citizens of another country thousands of miles away. In such a connected world where diseases move as freely as people and products, the fight for global health is essential.
